This should be possible easily (using titleregexp). The advantage of the DPL calendar is in my eyes that users can easily make such changes themselves witout the need to deal with php programming. Personally, I prefer to have a common category for all event pages as this makes the selection much more efficient and is compliant with general principles and traditions of Mediawiki. Problem
