It will not work for me

The problem with the above example is that you might expect to see the current page as root of a tree. But a DPL query will never show its own page on the result list. This is explained in the manual. And apart from that the category tree will only list category pages. But the current page is a talk page and not a category page. Use something like "Country" instead of "main" and you will get a result. Gero 15:56, 24 September 2007 (CEST)
